STEAM ENGINES OF YESTERYEAR LIVE TODAY
Steam Engines powered the world. Steam drove locomotives, boats, traction engines for heavy haulage, road rollers, turbines in big ships, Industrial machinery, small water pumps for farmers, large
ploughing engines, and fairground showman's engines that ran the gallopers, carousel and steam yachts.

Today, people like us, who have a passion for steam engines, are lovingly preserving these old workhorses and introducing them to a
whole new generation of enthusiasts. Happily devoting time, money and energy to tracking down and restoring them back to their former glory.
Throughout the world each year, numerous fairs and rallies take place where the proud owners gather to display their machines and talk steam. Visitors young and old alike can see the engines working as they did a century ago and get a taste of what daily life was like for the working man.
This site aims to give you an insight in to the old days of Steam through articles, stories and images.
You can find Steam Fair and rally dates, preservation reports, museum details, preserved railways, reminiscences of the “oily rag brigade”, oddities and curiosities and if you have a “steam tale” to share, then we are happy for you to email it to the address at the foot of the page.
